Biden Says He'll Cut off Israel From Bombs, Artillery if Rafah is Invaded
The Biden administration has supported Israel's genocide for months, and this was the first time the president put conditions on weapons
U.S. President Joe Biden, who has co-signed Israel’s genocide in Gaza for months, said he will withhold certain weapons if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu makes good on his promise to invade Rafah.
“I made it clear that if they go into Rafah – they haven’t gone in Rafah yet – if they go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah, to deal with the cities – that deal with that problem,” Biden told CNN.
The Times of Israel reported late Tuesday that the White House confirmed that it “held up a large shipment of 2,000- and 500-pound bombs that it feared Israel might use in a major ground operation in the densely populated southern Gaza city of Rafah.”
“We’re not walking away from Israel’s security. We’re walking away from Israel’s ability to wage war in those areas,” Biden said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last week during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken that any talk of a permanent ceasefire with Hamas is out of the question—even if every single remaining hostage is released.
While the mainstream news media in the West continues to portray Hamas as the obdurate party during these negotiations, the reality is that this group knows that Israel will continue its genocide and land-grab the hour any temporary ceasefire expires. Hamas has said it will hand over the hostages if three conditions are met: permanent ceasefire, withdrawal of Israeli forces from all of Gaza, and the ability of the population to return home unimpeded.
That is a problem for Netanyahu and Israel because, as we have noted in great detail, they want Gaza and they want the Palestinians out.
Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, said Blinken has unfairly been trying to pin blame on the group for the failure of recent negotiations.
Biden told CNN that while he is “not walking away from Israel’s security. We’re walking away from Israel’s ability to wage war in [populated] areas.”
The network asked him if Israel has crossed his red line and he said, “Not yet.”
TREND FORECAST: The bullshit that the media has been selling for weeks is that the U.S. is opposed to any such invasion—unless Israel figures out a way to protect civilians. Washington has, up until this point, done nothing to protect civilian life in Gaza since the start of the war. And with an Israeli invasion and mass bombing of Gaza, Israel’s slaughter of innocent civilians will escalate.
