Russia Likely Delivered Warning Directly to White House: MEARSHEIMER
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the approval of long-rage missile strikes on Russia would mean NATO is at war with Moscow.
The decision by the Biden administration to hold off on announcing the approval of long-range missile strikes on Russia was likely the result of Russia telling the White House in no uncertain terms that it would mean war, John Mearsheimer, the University of Chicago professor, told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s podcast.
Mearsheimer said Russian President Vladimir Putin made it unequivocally clear that he viewed the approval of these missile strikes as a declaration of war.
“And I would bet a good chunk of money that somebody at the highest levels of the Russian government called somebody at the highest level of the American government and told them in no uncertain terms that they should believe every word that Putin had uttered, and maybe even gave the Americans some details on what the Russians might do. But I think the White House got the message loudly and clearly that they were playing with fire,” he said.

He continued, “The fact is the Russians are winning. People in the administration surely know this, and they surely know that there is no way to turn around. Despite their public utterings, they have to understand Ukrainians are in deep, deep trouble and the situation is only going to get worse.”
He said the Biden administration made a catastrophic mistake promoting the war in February 2022 and the administration and the Ukrainians will pay a heavy price for that mistake.
Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the Russian State Duma, said Thursday that the EU is seeking nuclear war after the European Parliament adopted a resolution demanding that the EU to allow Ukraine to strike deep inside Russia, according to RT.
“What the European Parliament is calling for would lead to a world war using nuclear weapons. For your information: the flight time of a Sarmat missile to Strasbourg is three minutes and 20 seconds,” he said on Telegram, referring to Russia’s hypersonic missile.
Mearsheimer said there are reports that the Pentagon has taken these threats seriously and noted that Russia considers Ukraine an existential threat and it has no intention of losing.
“If they get at all desperate…If they think we’re upping the ante that puts them at a great disadvantage, you can rest assured that they are going to give at least serious consideration to using nuclear weapons,” he said.
Mearsheimer said he believes if war broke out between the U.S. and Russia, Moscow would begin on the low rung of the escalation ladder and dare Washington to retaliate.
These American govt officials need to be tried for treason, etc. then appropriate punishment should follow!
The damage done to the Republic by this appointed administration along with the thousands of lives sacrificed in the name of greed by the neocons & their benefactors is beyond calculation.
I pray we can come out of this in one piece.
I agree with Tov Klein.
Military tribunals would be an appropriate start.
