Steve Witkoff, U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy, promised Hamas that Washington would get Israel to lift its barbaric humanitarian blockade in return for the Israeli-American who was serving in the IDF when captured, but he did not deliver on the promise, the Gazan group said, according to a report.

Drop Site News interviewed Basem Naim, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, who said there was a deal in place to release the IDF member from New Jersey and the pledge was made by “Witkoff himself.”

“If we release [Alexander], Trump will speak out thanking Hamas for its gesture, obliging Israel on the second day to open the borders and allow aid to come into Gaza, and [Trump would] call for an immediate ceasefire and to go for negotiations to end the war.”

He continued, “He did nothing of this. They didn't violate the deal. They threw it in the trash.”

Israel has, instead, ramped up its murder campaign in Gaza — killing at least 143 yesterday alone.

The Times of Israel reported that Witkoff has now “told other mediators that Washington doesn’t plan to force Israel to end the war in Gaza.”
