Blinken a 'Rare Kind of Degenerate': MEDVEDEV
Top Russian criticized U.S. diplomat's decision to call on Ukraine to lower draft age
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s national security council, called U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken a “rare kind of degenerate” for pushing Ukraine to lower its conscription age to 18 to keep receiving “U.S. assistance.”

Medvedev was likely referring to Blinken’s interview today with Reuters where he admitted that Kyiv has some tough decisions ahead, but “for example, getting younger people into the fight, we think, many of us think, is necessary. Right now, 18- to 25-year-olds are not in the fight.”
Blinken said NATO would be happy to train these younger troops “to make sure that for every force that they mobilize, we will provide training, we'll provide equipment.”

The Trends Journal was completely opposed to Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine in 2022, but we understood why Moscow made the decision. We also noted that there is no way that Ukraine could defeat the superpower without NATO entering the fight, but as the war grew closer, top NATO officials made it clear that Kyiv was not protected under Article 5.
TRENDPOST: During the 2019 presidential campaign in Ukraine, Zelensky’s history of draft-dodging became a focal point that former President Petro Poroshenko tried to scrutinize. On April 13, 2019, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry took to Facebook to confirm that Zelensky ignored four draft notices on 15 April 2015, 23 June 2014, 15 August 2014, and 10 October 2015. “Citizen Zelensky V.O. did not arrive at the military commissariat at his call,” the post read.
The Defense Ministry and Zelensky’s office did not respond to emails seeking comment from The Trends Journal. Zelensky has been criticized since the start of the invasion for not allowing fighting-aged men to leave the country and using the strategy of issuing military summonses at gas stations and other public areas.
Blinken was in Brussels and repeated the false flag claim that Russia has engaged in dangerous escalations, “including bringing more than 10,000 North Korean troops into the fight.”
Ukraine is running out of trained fighters in its war against Russia and has been forced to turn to soldiers with little to no experience who have been getting routed in direct conflict with the better-armed Russian forces.
It is nearly impossible to learn how many Ukrainian troops have died in combat and it has been one of the country’s top secrets. In November 2022, Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission president, stated that 100,000 Ukrainian troops had been killed since the start of the war. But that portion of the speech was quickly scrubbed from the official video.
TRENDPOST: There is no escalation too high for the Biden administration when it comes to trying to escalate the Ukraine war and its desire to defeat Russian President Vladimir Putin.
John Mearsheimer, the University of Chicago professor, told “Judging Freedom,” last month that the Biden administration is pumping Ukraine with more weapons, approving long-range missile strikes, and providing new land mines in hopes of keeping Kyiv strong enough until Donald Trump’s inauguration in January so the Republican is blamed when the country collapses.
As we had forecast before the Ukraine War began on 24 February 2022, Russia would not be defeated. And when Ukraine announced that there would be a major counteroffensive in the Spring of 2023, we had forecast it would be a failure… which it was.
We have also long forecast that the greater Kyiv’s losses, the more the government will ramp up a major attack on Russia, blow up a nuclear plant and/or some other major event that will get them back in the news and get them more weaponry.
