Chinese Media: U.S. Seems to Have Plans to Destroy Taiwan With Nord Stream Part II
Congressman reportedly says video was "selectively clipped" by the CCP...The Trends Journal requested the full interview from the Milken Institute
A Chinese newspaper took to Twitter to criticize the recent suggestion by a U.S. congressman that the U.S. may have to warn China that it will bomb of Taiwan’s biggest chip maker if Beijing moves to invade the island.
Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., made the comment while attending a conference at the Milken Institute earlier this month. He said one of the ideas being floated around Washington is to warn China that it will “blow up” the TSMC.
He admitted that the idea isn’t necessarily the best one and insisted that he was not promoting it.

The Global Times, an English-language Chinese newspaper under the CCP’s People’s Daily, posted, “It seems [the U.S.] indeed has a plan to destroy Taiwan. [American] politicians do not even pay lip service to Taiwan's interests let alone think about them. Are they planning to turn TSMC into the next Nord Stream?”
We noted yesterday that Moulton was with Michele Flournoy, who started WestExec Advisers with Antony Blinken, the secretary of state in 2017. The “secretive consulting firm” that has been criticized for its revolving door in the Biden administration.
Flournoy quickly shot down his comments and said if TSMC was destroyed, there would be a "two trillion dollar impact on the global economy within the first year" and "you'd put manufacturing around the world at a standstill."
The State Department declined to comment when reached by The Trends Journal.
Moulton’s office did not immediately respond to an email. He reportedly told a news outlet that “The CCP selectively clipped my comments, spread them on social media, and attempted to undermine the U.S.-Taiwan partnership."
UNEDITED: WATCH MOULTON AT 36:22
MOULTON: Well, one of the interesting ideas out there that has been floated out for deterrence is just making it very clear to the Chinese that if you invade Taiwan, we’re going to blow up TSMC. I just throw that out because, not necessarily that that’s the best strategy
