Diplomacy? Forget It! House 'Progressives' Run for Cover After Urging Biden to Seek Peace in Ukraine
The one thing that brings politicians together, regardless of political party, is war funding.
Just when you thought a few politicians in Washington have the ability to thin for themselves and call for peace in Ukraine, they prove, once again, that they are fully part of the WAR MACHINE.
The Trends Journal reported yesterday that House Democrats wrote a letter to President Joe Biden essentially telling him that the Ukraine War has gone on long enough and — believe it or not — his administration should consider negotiating for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

They wrote: “We agree with the Administration’s perspective that it is not America’s place to pressure Ukraine’s government regarding sovereign decisions, and with the principle you have enunciated that there should be “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.” But as legislators responsible for the expenditure of tens of billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars in military assistance in the conflict, we believe such involvement in this war also creates a responsibility for the United States to seriously explore all possible avenues, including direct engagement with Russia, to reduce harm and support Ukraine in achieving a peaceful settlement.”
Sounds reasonable, right?
No.
In Washington and in the Western media, you must be fully committed to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s undoing or be silenced. These politicians evidently have no courage and came out a day later, once again, fully committing themselves to more war.
Rep. Pramila Jayapal, the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, clarified her position and said, “In a letter to President Biden today, my colleagues and I advocated for the administration to continue ongoing military and economic support for Ukrainians while pursuing diplomatic support to Ukraine to ensure we are helpful partners on efforts to reach ‘a solution that is acceptable to the people of Ukraine.”
AntiWar.com noted that she went on: Democrats are “unequivocal commitment to supporting Ukraine.”
The report also noted that Rep. Sara Jacobs said she signed the letter in June, but “a lot has changed since then.”
“I wouldn’t sign it today. We have to continue supporting Ukraine economically and militarily to give them the leverage they need to end this war.”
“The Congressional Progressive Caucus hereby withdraws its recent letter to the White House regarding Ukraine,” Jayapal said in a statement. “The letter was drafted several months ago, but unfortunately was released by staff without vetting. As Chair of the Caucus, I accept responsibility for this.”
What a joke these people are.
Peace has never been popular.
But still it is the responsibility of all of us to support it.
Freedom and prosperity depend on Peace.
