Erdogan-Netanyahu Alliance Gives Israel its First Victory in Syria: Top Iranian Professor
Marandi said he is sure Yahya Sinwar, the now-deceased Hamas leader, never expected Erdogan to carry out “this treachery.”
Seyed Marandi, the top Iranian professor, said Israel has been on the losing end of the Gaza and Lebanon wars, but its partnership with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan led to its first real victory with the fall of Damascus.
Marandi told George Galloway’s “MOATS” that Israel is continuing its slaughter of Palestinians inside Gaza and that there is a holocaust going on in the enclave, but the Israelis “had to achieve victory” somewhere otherwise it is a defeat.

“And until now, it was a defeat for Israel,” he said. “But thanks to the last 10 days, thanks to the Erdogan-Netanyahu alliance, I can no longer say that.”
Galloway called the fall of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad an Israeli win because it “snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat.”
“Because all this talk of delegitimization and that their name is blackened throughout the world, and so on… that doesn't add up to a row of beans. Unless the people fighting the occupation are able to go on fighting it… it's a victory for the occupier,” Galloway said.
He said in hindsight, October 7 looked like a very bad idea, and it makes you wonder: whose idea was it anyway? Because all those who supported the resistance seemed to have suffered a serious strategic defeat.
