Michael Hayden, the ex-CIA chief, took to Twitter on Friday to imply that former President Trump should be executed for possessing a reported 11 sets of classified documents at his home in Mar-a-Lago.
Jerry Dunleavy, a reporter for the Washington Examiner, noticed Hayden’s tweet and posted, “NBD just a former NSA & CIA Director (who also was among the dozens of ex-intel officials who signed the infamous October 2020 Hunter Biden laptop letter) out here suggesting that Trump should be executed.”
Dunleavy was referring to a letter that was signed by 50 former senior intel officials that said they believe emails belonging to President Joe Biden’s son was a “Russian information operation.”
Michael Beschloss, an MSNBC contributor and presidential historian, tweeted that Julius Rosenberg and Ethel Rosenberg were executed in 1953 for sharing nuclear data with the Soviet Union.
Hayden, whois a principal at the Chertoff Group and a distinguished visiting professor at the George Mason University, tweeted in response, “Sounds about right,” indicating that Trump should suffer the same fate.
The Trends Journal reached out to the Chertoff Group and George Mason for comment but did not get an immediate response.
The Wall Street Journal, citing documents, reported that FBI agents removed 11 sets of classified documents from Trump’s home. The Washington Post said the FBI agents searched for classified documents tied to nuclear weapons.
