GAZA GENOCIDE TO CONTINUE: Israel Rejects UN Ceasefire Resolution
U.S. abstained from the vote while UN expert calls resolution bullshit
Israel brushed off the newly approved UN ceasefire resolution that passed in a 14-0 vote because the U.S. did not use its veto power.
The New York Times reported that the chamber “broke into applause after the vote.”
Benny Gantz, the National Unity leader, posted on X: "The State of Israel has a moral obligation to continue fighting until the hostages are returned and the threat of Hamas is removed and that is what we will do. The Security Council's decision has no operational significance for us."
Craig Mokhiber, who resigned from his post as director of the New York Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, said the resolution adopted by the UN lasts about 2 weeks and calls for humanitarian aid, lawful treatment of detainees, and the release of hostages.
“Weak as it is, the U.S. is already undercutting it by saying (falsely) that the ceasefire is conditional & that the res is non-binding,” he posted on X.
Israel treated the U.S.’s move not to block the resolution as a betrayal and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he will not send a delegation to Washington this week.
His office called the decision “a clear retreat from the consistent US position in the Security Council since the beginning of the war,” and one that “gives Hamas hope that international pressure will allow them to get a ceasefire without releasing our hostages,” The Times of Israel reported.
TRENDPOST: The U.S. has drawn criticism for vetoing UN resolutions designed to end the unfolding genocide in Gaza.
Kenneth Roth, the former executive director of Human Rights Watch, posted on X in December: “The US government vetoes a UN Security Council call for a Gaza ceasefire. The US cites Israel’s right to defend itself from Hamas, but does Biden really think that pummeling Palestinian civilians in Gaza is accomplishing that? Or building the next Hamas?”
What do you expect from the "chosenites"? Of course who chose them is a worthy topic. My bet is on Lucifer.
