GIRALDI: Trump Enters Office 'Owned by Israel' With Belligerent Cabinet
Incoming president's team could have been picked by Netanyahu
Philip Giraldi, the former CIA analyst, posted on X on Saturday about the high risks that come with pro-Israel Donald Trump taking office in a few weeks.
START YOUR YEAR AHEAD OF THE TRENDS
“The old year is ending on both a bang and a whimper,” he posted. “Joe Biden still has plenty of opportunity to raise hell and tie Trump to certain policies, particularly when it comes to continuing “useless” wars. Trump for his part will enter office owned by Israel and led by the nose by his belligerent cabinet. The actual needs and interests of the American people will be, as usual, invisible to the politicians and lost in the shuffle.”
Trump wasted no time in rewarding billionaire heiress Miriam Adelson with a Middle East team that could have been handpicked by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself.
Trump tapped Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., as his secretary of state; Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., his ambassador to the United Nations. He also named Steven C. Witkoff, a New York-based real estate developer, as his special envoy to the Middle East—replacing President Joe Biden’s Amos Hochstein, who is Jewish and born in Israel.
The New York Times reported that Trump’s selections must have delighted his “most hawkish pro-Israel backers.”
