Israel Mocked After Posting Photo of 'Market' in Central Gaza as Famine Sets in
Half of the population on the brink of starvation, according to reports
Nothing to see here!
Israel’s official X account posted some food boxes at a “market” in central Gaza on Tuesday in hopes of distracting the public from reports that 70 percent of the city’s population is suffering from catastrophic levels of hunger.
CNN, citing the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, reported that “all 2.2 million people in Gaza do not have enough food to eat, with half of the population on the brink of starvation and famine projected to arrive in the north ‘anytime between mid-March and May 2024.’”
Israel’s post on X prompted backlash after it was perceived to be another example of propaganda.
“Israel is blocking Food, aid and Medicine. One photo doesn't change what's happening to over 2 million people,” one commenter said.

About one in every 20 children in shelters and health centers in northern Gaza is experiencing “severe wasting,” The New York Times reported.
UNICEF reported that one in 3 children (31 percent) under 2 years of age are acutely malnourished in north Gaza, which the agency said is a “staggering escalation” from 15.6 percent in January.
A statement released Friday read: “At least 23 children in the Northern Gaza Strip have reportedly died from malnutrition and dehydration in recent weeks, adding to the mounting toll of children killed in the Strip in this current conflict—about 13,450 reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.”
Around 1.7 million people in the Gaza Strip are estimated to have been internally displaced, including half children. These children “do not have enough access to water, food, fuel, and medicine. Their homes have been destroyed; their families torn apart,” the agency said.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who faces criticism for refusing to call for a ceasefire, Israel’s slaughter of over 32,000 Palestinians and their bombing of Gaza to ruins as genocide, called for the U.S. to end all funding for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“Hundreds of thousands of children are facing starvation. Stop this war right now—no more money for Netanyahu’s government,” Sanders posted on X.
Michael Fakhri, the UN special rapporteur on the right to food and a law professor at the University of Oregon, told The Guardian last month that Israel is intentionally starving Palestinians and should be held accountable for war crimes.
“There is no reason to intentionally block the passage of humanitarian aid or intentionally obliterate small-scale fishing vessels, greenhouses, and orchards in Gaza—other than to deny people access to food,” he said. He continued, “Intentionally depriving people of food is clearly a war crime. Israel has announced its intention to destroy the Palestinian people, in whole or in part, simply for being Palestinian. In my view as a UN human rights expert, this is now a situation of genocide. This means the state of Israel in its entirety is culpable and should be held accountable—not just individuals or this government or that person.”
To date, more than 31,184 Palestinians have been killed and 72,889 injured, according to the local health authorities. As of 12 March, 247 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza with 1,475 injured since the start of the ground operation, Israeli army data shows, the UN said in a statement.
Catherine Russell, the executive director of UNICEF, said in a statement that, “The speed at which this catastrophic child malnutrition crisis in Gaza has unfolded is shocking, especially when desperately needed assistance has been at the ready just a few miles away.”
“We have repeatedly attempted to deliver additional aid and we have repeatedly called for the access challenges we have faced for months to be addressed. Instead, the situation for children is getting worse by each passing day. Our efforts in providing life-saving aid are being hampered by unnecessary restrictions, and those are costing children their lives,” she said.
I am repulsed. I sure hope it isn't about eliminating the Palestinian people. There are some with bad intent, but by many accounts, many are peace loving, even Christians. Why would a tyrannical country care about that though?
For me, I am wondering about the genuine appearance of Isreal. I have looked at their webpage (hard to find now) and see the "new technologies, ahead of the rest" they are bragging about, especially in Medical devices. Biotech was one area I am concerned about. It appears they are helping with the transhumanism program as talked about by harrari. I am still trying to figure it all out, but am disappointed to learn that this now wealthy country has been exploiting people with kind hearts (yes, I am one who used to donate to help the elderly Jewish that were supposedly starving).
I am questioning their faith in God. I am questioning their truth in reporting. I am questioning if they are indeed people close to God, or if they continue to want to pursue their own desires over Gods design.
I don't like war. I don't approve of killing people you just don't like. God calls us to love greatly, like he did when he sent his Son to give us a way to heaven. Its not hard. Love your neighbor as yourself and love/seek the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul. Then, and only then, will there be peace.
