Israel Produces No Evidence to Link UNRWA Staff to 'Terror' Groups: Report
The Israeli allegation alone got the Biden administration to cut off funding to the agency while Israel carried out its attempt at ethnic cleansing
Who needs evidence when the country making the allegation is Israel?
Catherine Colonna, a former French foreign minister, released a report on Monday that — as expected — said Israel did not produce any evidence linking UNRWA staff members to Hamas.

Al Jazeera, which obtained the report, said “Israeli intelligence provided a number of accusations against UNRWA without evidence, including that the agency’s facilities had been used by Hamas in its October attack. Moreover, according to the dossier, 12 staff members had participated directly in the attack, with 190 others offering intelligence and logistical support.”
Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UNRWA, which Israel has long dreamed of closing down, said earlier this year that Israel provided no evidence linking agency employees to militant groups.
The mere allegation prompted the U.S. to suspend funding for the vital group that works in Gaza. Chris Doyle, director of the Council for Arab-British Understanding, told Sky News that the move to defund on allegations was a “disgrace,” Common Dreams noted.
The allegation from Israel did serve a purpose because it distracted the public from the International Court of Justice’s ruling that Israel was plausibly committing genocide in Gaza.
The collective punishment of Gazans by Israel and its backers only worsened after the court ruling because Israel got the U.S. and other countries to suspend funding for UNWRA.
The Wall Street Journal, which has been promoting the Israeli agenda in the U.S., said last month that it viewed “intelligence reports” that indicated that about 10 percent of the agency’s staff in Gaza “have ties to Islamist militant groups.
Louis Charbonneau, the UN director at Human Rights Watch, told The Guardian: “I don’t think the findings in the Colonna report are particularly surprising. Governments who haven’t should immediately resume full funding to Unrwa so it can deliver aid to desperate civilians. Many Palestinians are facing famine because of Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of war.”
