Iran showed sophisticated military capabilities during its attack on Israel Saturday and Will likely make good on its promise to strike Israel hard if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu carries out a significant retaliatory strike, a former CIA analyst said in an interview Wednesday.

“If Israel ups the ante, and does a significant attack on Iran, in Iranian territory, then Iran will make good on its threat, promise, call it what you will, and only this time I think there will be significant damage throughout Israel,” Larry Johnson, the former analyst, told “Geopolitical Trends, w/Dr. David Oualaalou.”

“It won't be confined to just military facilities. I think they go after government buildings; I think they'll go after economic targets; I think they'll go after intelligence targets. They're not going to just kill civilians to kill civilians, but there will be collateral damage and civilians will die.”

He said there's a likelihood that Israel would turn to tactical nukes in its own response to Iran, and Russia and China would “not stand for that.”

“Israel runs a real risk of being destroyed as a nation out of this,” he said. And it also runs the risk of pulling the U.S. into a war “that it cannot win.”

Saeed Khatibzadeh, the Iranian ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, said in an interview on Wednesday that Netanyahu “always wanted to win with the blood of American soldiers and the money of American and Western taxpayers.”

“Human stupidity knows no bounds when it comes to a person like Netanyahu and his regime. When they attacked the diplomatic mission of Iran, they did an extremely stupid thing. I cannot speak for them, but I can speak on behalf of my respective government. We are 100 percent ready. If there is an attack, we will react immediately, comprehensively, and decisively,” he said, according to Iran’s IRNA.
