Lavrov Mocks How U.S. Abandoned Afghanistan, Hints Ukraine is Next
Biden once reportedly told a top diplomat that the U.S. should pull out of Afghanistan despite the humanitarian costs. “Fuck that. We don’t have to worry about that."
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, unloaded on Washington in an interview and said, deep down, Ukraine means nothing to the Biden administration.
Lavrov noted how the Western promoters of the war love to make vague comments about their support for Kyiv and repeat the line “for as long as it takes.”
“They never answer the question - ‘it takes’ to do what? It is one thing to end the military campaign, like they ended it in Afghanistan or in Iraq. It is, probably, a slightly different thing If they want to use this campaign to completely annihilate the Ukrainian army. That is, when they smelled trouble in Afghanistan, in Iraq, they simply high-tailed it out of there. They have no interest in Ukraine itself," he said, according to TASS, the Russian outlet.
He also said that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has essentially been giving Russia the silent treatment, having only been in touch with him twice since the war started.
TRENDPOST: Do you think Biden gives a fuck about Ukraine?
When Kabul collapsed, the Biden administration laid blame squarely on the Afghan security forces for not putting up a fight to defend their country. Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said there were no reports that he heard of “that predicted a security force of 300,000 would evaporate in 11 days.”
