Lavrov: U.S. Enthusiastic Supporter of Regime Change Whenever it Can Benefit
Did West play role in last weekend's 'coup attempt'? Russia investigates
Sergey Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, confirmed that the Kremlin is investigating any possible role that the West played in last weekend’s high-profile mutiny that involved the Wagner mercenary group.
RT reported that Russia’s top diplomat was asked about the possibility that Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was compromised.
“I work in a government ministry that is not engaged in gathering evidence of unlawful acts being committed, but we do have such agencies and, I assure you, they are already looking into it,” Lavrov responded.
The US is an enthusiastic supporter of regime change whenever it can benefit from the process, he said.
The Biden administration denied any involvement.
VICTORIA ‘FUCK THE EU’ NULAND SELLS BIG LIE
The Western media used the weekend’s “coup attempt” to portray President Vladimir Putin as losing his grip on the country. Lavrov noted how reports emerged in the West that U.S. intelligence knew about Prigozhin’s plans. The diplomat said the information was not disclosed because the U.S. hoped that the mutiny would succeed.
Aleksandar Vucic, the Serbian president, said foreign intelligence services likely played a role in the coup attempt. Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons inspector, said he believes the British Intelligence Service played a leading role with the CIA assisting.
“What a lot of people don’t know is that two days ago, prior to this, the Ukrainian intelligence service, they had a series of covert cells being put in Moscow that was uncovered by the FSB, Russian security, and round it up,” Ritter told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom.” “It appears that these cells were supposed to be in place in Moscow, so that as Prigozhin started to move towards Moscow, they would carry out a series of attacks” that would terrorize the Russian people.
“This was a concerted effort between Wagner, Ukrainian intelligence, and their Western sponsors, in particular the British,” Ritter said. He continued, “We know that the only way that Russia loses this conflict is if Moscow implodes.”
TRENDPOST: The only way that Russia can “lose” the Ukraine War is if there is an internal uprising, so when reports emerged on Friday that Prigozhin was advancing on Moscow with his mercenary forces and the Kremlin was in chaos, it was music to the Presstitute media’s ears.
Did Russian President Vladimir Putin flee Moscow? Will there be a showdown at the Kremlin? Kyiv officials took to social media to poke fun at the internal turmoil and tweeted that they were running out of popcorn while they watched the events unfold.
None of that happened, and as fast as stories emerged about Prigozhin’s advancements, the uprising ended and Prigozhin was exiled to Belarus. He will not face any prosecution and his forces who did not support the upheaval will get the chance to join the Russian military.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday that the coup attempt raised “profound questions.”
“It shows real cracks,” he told CBS News. “We can’t speculate or know exactly where that’s gonna go. We do know that Putin has a lot more to answer for in the weeks and months ahead.”
Blinken continued, “Sixteen months ago, Russian forces were on the doorstep of Kyiv in Ukraine, thinking they’d take the city in a matter of days, thinking they would erase Ukraine from the map as an independent country. Now over this weekend, they’ve had to defend Moscow, Russia’s capital, against mercenaries of Putin’s own making.”
TREND FORECAST: While the Western media salivated over the chance that Putin faced a looming civil war, reports failed to mention that just a month earlier, Prigozhin urged Putin to use the full might of the country’s military in Ukraine to save Russia from the risk of a revolution and to bring the war to a quick end.
Putin will up the ante in Ukraine after the uprising and have military leaders who want to prove their mettle. It’s beyond the scope of reason to watch Prigozhin take such a risk without knowing that the support would be there. This operation either showed Prigozhin is compromised by the West, or it was staged by the Kremlin to justify a stronger war effort.
