MACGREGOR: Netanyahu's Speech in Front of Congress May be Battle Cry for War With Hezbollah
Netanyahu is banking on his ability to bring the U.S. into the conflict, military expert says
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may use his upcoming speech in front of Congress to announce plans to invade Hezbollah in Lebanon because so many lawmakers rely on pro-Israel group donations and would feel compelled to support the mission.
Netanyahu has failed to achieve any of his objectives in Gaza and IDF troops are being worn thin. Israeli forces have taken heavy casualties carrying out the genocide in Gaza, pushing the total number of disabled soldiers in the country to 70,000 — the highest ever.
“They don’t admit to it, but there’s at least 5,000 killed in action and maybe a lot more…we have no way of knowing because no one tells the truth about casualties during wartime,” he said.
MacGregor said Netanyahu may never have a better opportunity to move on Hezbollah because Israel can likely depend on U.S. military support. The Israeli prime minister may also feel that he will never get a better chance at getting the U.S. into a war with Iran.
MacGregor told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s podcast that pro-Israel politicians in the U.S. (like Speaker Mike Johnson and Sen. Lindsey Graham) have “thoroughly demonized” Iran to the point where the “average American hears Iran and thinks, ‘Oh, it’s a terrible terror state committing atrocities everywhere.’”
“So he's banking on the ability to bring us into this conflict,” he said.
