Macron Warns Against Humiliating Russia in Ukraine
Sun Tzu said, “Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across”
Why is Ukraine treating French President Emmanuel Macron as though he committed treason by stating that it would be unwise to humiliate Russia on the battlefield?
Even the biggest chicken hawk in the world, let’s say Sen. Lindsey Graham, must understand, deep down, that Russian President Vladimir Putin would never allow his country to be humiliated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
If the Kremlin starts to get the sense that its military is being humiliated, it would likely turn to its deadlier arsenal and the West would be compelled to respond militarily.
Welcome to World War III.

Macron, who has been one of the only Western leaders in contact with Moscow after the invasion began, said, “We must not humiliate Russia so that the day when the fighting stops we can build an exit ramp through diplomatic means. I am convinced that it is France's role to be a mediating power.”
Macron is correct that it will be up to France and others to negotiate a peaceful resolution. The U.S., led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, has failed at every turn of this war and should be banished from any role in negotiating.
But the question is: why does Kyiv get so bothered by anyone who even suggests anything less than a complete victory over the Russians?
Dmitro Kuleba, the Ukrainian foreign minister, took to Twitter and posted, “Calls to avoid humiliation of Russia can only humiliate France and every other country that would call for it.”
Kuleba’s comments seem to echo Kyiv’s position on any kind of diplomatic resolution.
Henry Kissinger, the former U.S. secretary of state, also felt the wrath of Kyiv for stating that Ukraine may have to cede land in order for a peaceful settlement. Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Zelensky, said Kissinger would as easily “allow to take Poland or Lithuania away,” in a reference to WWII.
Macron has spoken out against the war.
“I think, and I told him (Putin), that he is making a historic and fundamental mistake for his people, for himself and for history," Macron said, according to Reuters.
Podolyak, according to Reuters, turned down the suggestion that there should be negotiations until Kyiv receives the new weapons from the West and the country begins to drive the Russian forces back to the borders.
Endless war and destruction.
TRENDPOST: The White House has refused to acknowledge its own failed diplomacy that Ukrainians are now paying for. Russia told the U.S. and NATO clearly that it wants NATO to stop expanding and does not want Ukraine to join.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said no deal on both fronts. Moscow called those two issues its red line and decided to act. Putin has nothing to lose and will never let Ukraine or its comedian president embarrass him on the world’s stage. The U.S. has to figure out how to de-escalate the situation. It was Sun Tzu who wrote, “Build your opponent a golden bridge to retreat across.”
