Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., posted on X Thursday that “there can be no justification for the number of civilian casualties (tens of thousands of women and children) inflicted by Israel in Gaza in the last two years,” and the Trump administration should “end all U.S. military aid to Israel now.”

One commenter responded to Massie’s post: “I am with you as soon as Hamas is gone.”

He replied, “Sounds like you feel the death of 50,000 women and children is justified, and that more such deaths are necessary? I disagree.”

The Israeli military, backed by the U.S., has killed or injured over 50,000 Palestinian children in Gaza since the genocide broke out in October 2023.

Edouard Beigbeder, UNICEF’s regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, said in a statement that 1,309 children have been killed and 3,738 injured since U.S. President Donald Trump gave Israel the green light to ramp up its massacres after refusing it implement Phase 2 of the agreed-upon ceasefire in March.

“What level of horror must be livestreamed before the international community fully steps up, uses its influence, and takes bold, decisive action to force the end of this ruthless killing of children?” he asked.

Trump has big plans for Gaza once Israel wraps up its genocide, and said he hopes to turn the battered enclave into a “freedom zone” after the U.S. takes it.

He told a business roundtable during his visit to Qatar that he has some “very good” concepts for the enclave that has been the place of “death and destruction for many years.”

“Make it a freedom zone,” he said. “Let the United States get involved and make it just a freedom zone.”
