Massie: U.S. Aid to Ukraine Ends Up Being Laundered Back Into Military-Industrial Complex
Ukraine May Be Losing, But Business is Booming in Washington
Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky. said in an interview with Tucker Carlson on X that the money the U.S. has been “sending” to Ukraine is really just being laundered back to the US military-industrial complex.
The funds eventually end up benefiting people within specific U.S. districts and “stockholders, some of whom are congressmen,” he said in the interview, according to RT, the Russian outlet.
His comments came after Marc A. Thiessen, who sees the economic benefit of Ukrainians dying on the battlefield, penned a column last month in The Washington Post stating that “the best kept secret” of the funding is that “most of the money is being spent here in the United States.”
Thiessen called out representatives who have called for an end to the support.
“That’s right: Funds that lawmakers approve to arm Ukraine are not going directly to Ukraine but are being used stateside to build new weapons or to replace weapons sent to Kyiv from U.S. stockpiles. Of the $68 billion in military and related assistance Congress has approved since Russia invaded Ukraine, almost 90 percent is going to Americans, one analysis found.”
He continued:
“At a time when both major parties are competing to win working-class votes and strengthen the U.S. manufacturing br, our military aid to Ukraine does exactly that — it is providing a major cash infusion into factories across the country that directly benefits American workers. It is also creating jobs and opportunities for local suppliers, shops, restaurants and other businesses that support the factories rolling out weapons.”
Massie told Carlson that there are a lot of people getting rich in the U.S. on the Ukraine War.
“You know, people are getting rich, so let’s do it. It’s an immoral argument, but it is one. But that’s not the argument they’re making in public,” he said. He told Carlson that the argument in Washington is that Ukraine support is a moral obligation, and you are a “bad person if you’re against it.”
“But no one mentions that we have abetted the killing of an entire generation of Ukrainian men that will not be replaced. To fight a war that they cannot win,” Massie said, according to RT.
TRENDPOST: As we have continued to note, the Military Industrial Complex that former President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned had taken over the United States, has now taken over the Western world. (President Joe Biden’s entire administration have made small fortunes selling their “access” to Washington.)
The Kiel Institute for the World Economy, said Ukraine has received about $230 billion since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, and these countries are looking into long-term solutions to continue to provide Ukraine with assistance.
Outright “gifts” to Ukraine may be fading off and countries may begin to follow France, which has developed a 200 million euro “innovative fund” that allows Kyiv to purchase weapons from French manufacturers.
The Trends Journal noted since the start of the war that Ukraine’s military is no match for the much larger Russian army, and it would save the most lives if Kyiv decided to ignore the warmongers in Washington and London and negotiate for a settlement and promise neutrality. We were completely ignored in the mainstream that sold the lie that Ukraine was winning.
Foreign Affairs noted the tremendous losses that Ukraine and Russia both endured since the start of the war and the cold reality “that Russia has succeeded, at least for now, in using force to seize a sizable piece of Ukraine’s territory. Despite Ukraine’s much-heralded counteroffensive, Russia has actually gained more territory over the course of 2023 than Ukraine has.”
Biden famously said in February—during the one-year mark of the war—that the U.S. is fully committed to the war and the support will not stop. Biden met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv at the time and then visited Warsaw, where he told the crowd that “brutality will never grind down the will of a free Ukraine. Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia. Never.”
Thomas Graham, a distinguished fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, wrote in Politico that the setbacks of Ukraine’s ongoing counteroffensive “have made it clear that victory will not come soon, if at all. A long war of attrition lies ahead.”
The Wall Street Journal’s op-ed page ran an article last month titled: “It’s Time to End Magical Thinking About Russia’s Defeat,” which noted that the Ukrainian counter-offensive did not achieve the breakthrough that would give Kyiv a strong hand to negotiate for a settlement.
“At a minimum, Putin expects that U.S. and European support for Ukraine will dissipate, that Ukrainians will tire of the endless terror and destruction inflicted on them, and that a combination of the two will enable him to dictate the terms for a deal to end the war and claim victory,” the article stated.
I’m Hoping that will be voted next Speaker. Massie TRUTHSPEAKER! We Americans are DONE with WAR ! It’s unbelievable riches for the Traitors of America , and an age Old DEPOPULATION ACT against Humanity.
