MCGOVERN: Looks Like Trump Was Mousetrapped By Netanyahu

Trump said he knew about the attack after calling for more negotiations

Ray McGovern, the former CIA analyst, told The Trends Journal in an interview yesterday that judging by U.S. President Donald Trump’s erratic response to Israel’s decision to attack Iran, he had been “mousetrapped” by the Israelis and trying to find his equilibrium since.

McGovern said that up until the Israeli strike last week, Trump had been saying that the negotiations were ongoing and that Israel should not attack Iran.

“That’s one thing that leads me to believe he was mousetrapped,” he said. “Now, it’s sort of embarrassing” for a U.S. president to admit that “our great ally Israel mousetrapped us.”

He continued: “What he [Trump] decided to do was to ‘join the winner’ after watching Israel’s original bombing spree.

Trump called the strikes “excellent” the next morning, which McGovern said was a “cover-up.”

The White House said on Thursday that Trump will make his decision whether or not to join the fight within two weeks.
