Medvedev: U.S. Weapons Sent to Ukraine Being Used by Hamas
Expert says the "definitive answer will come from serial numbers, which can be traced to the point of origin"
Dmitry Medvedev, the former Russian president and top security official said Monday that Hamas is using weapons that the U.S. sent to Ukraine that were likely sold on the black market by the “corrupt authorities” in Kyiv.
“They would steal everything in sight,” he said, according to RT, the Russian news outlet.
He said the conflict will “only get worse from here” because Hamas will likely add missiles, tanks, and planes to its arsenal that was intended for Ukraine.

Medvedev did not cite any evidence, but his comments came shortly after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted on X: “We need to work with Israel to track serial numbers on any U.S. weapons used by Hamas against Israel. Did they come from Afghanistan? Did they come from Ukraine? Highly likely the answer is both.”
The U.S. State Department did not immediately respond to an email inquiry from The Trends Journal.
Mark Cancian, a senior advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told us that it is “highly unlikely” that weapons intended for Ukraine were used, but “not impossible.”
“Hamas could have U.S. weapons from Israeli stocks they captured, from the Russians who captured some from Ukraine, from Afghanistan, or any number of sources,” he said in an email. “The definitive answer will come from serial numbers, which can be traced to the point of origin.”
