Murderous Israel Has Been Exposed After Hamas Attack: RITTER

Former UN weapons inspector says the shroud that made Israel look like a nice, fuzzy little rabbit to be hugged has been removed

Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons inspector, told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom” podcast that one of the smart moves that Hamas made was to allow “Israel to be Israel” after the 7 October attack.

Ritter said Israel sold itself as the U.S. equivalent in the Middle East when he lived there in the 90s. He said one would think that when a country is the target of an attack like the one carried out by Hamas, the world would be “sympathetic,” but “Israel didn't know how to respond properly and – this is one of the genius moves of Hamas – by letting Israel be Israel.”

“You see, Israel had sold itself to be one thing, but anybody who had studied Israel would realize that it was something completely different. I mean, after all, we knew the Dahiya Doctrine, the mowing the grass, the disproportional responses.”

(The Dahiya Doctrine is named after the Lebanese town that was flattened by Israel in 2006 and “justifies asymmetric warfare, destruction of civilian infrastructure, collective punishment and the use of disproportionate force,” according to TRTWorld.com.)

(Mowing the grass is when IDF troops cut down Palestinians they identify as militants. The Washington Post wrote in 2021: Such tactics have faced significant criticism from international human rights groups, often due to the disproportionate number of deaths caused by Israeli forces, compared to those caused by Palestinian militants during conflict.)

“This [Israel] was a murderous nation and it's only gotten more murderous and what's happened now, because of their genocidal policies towards the Palestinian people, is that the shroud that made Israel look like a nice, fuzzy little rabbit to be hugged has been removed and Israel's been exposed as the demonic nation that it is, and it's lost the support of the world it's losing the support of Europe and it's losing the support of the American people.”

Norman Finkelstein, the Middle East scholar, said in a recent interview that Israel was acting like it could be a “lunatic state” as it promotes war with Iran and continues to carry out its genocide in Gaza.

“I do believe that we are at one of those moments where Israel is hurling towards the precipice and is determined, one way or the other, to drag the rest of humanity with it,” he told Glenn Greenwald’s podcast “System Update.” “The only part of departure, in my opinion, that's rational, is to start with the theorem, not the thesis…the theorem that Israel is a lunatic state. And I don't say that in a glib way. I don't say that in an emotive way. I think one can say it in, for want of a better word, a scientific way. The state is certifiably crazy.”

Finkelstein mentioned Israel’s Samson Option which calls for the country’s government to pretend to be crazy to terrify its enemies and its allies so both do Israel's bidding.

If not “Israel is going to bring down the temple on everybody's head,” he said.

“And there are those who are not pretending to be crazy by advocating the Samson Option….They are crazy. They're lunatics. And I do believe that there is a significant portion of Israel's political spectrum that is either pretending to be crazy, or actually is crazy.”
