NAPOLITANO: Where’s the Outrage When Gov’t Suppresses Speech?
There’s no outrage because there’s no love of liberty anymore because we are so immune to the government trampling our liberties that we expect it to happen.
Gerald Celente and Judge Andrew Napolitano held their “Celente and the Judge” YouTube broadcast on Wednesday and spoke about how the U.S. government pressures Big Tech to limit speech.
NAPOLITANO: The whole point of the First Amendment is to keep the government out of the business of speech. Speech is a natural right that belongs to individual persons. The government does not have freedom of speech. The government has nothing to do with the marketplace of ideas. So the government goes sneakily behind the scenes to the companies that own the bulletin boards… Facebook, Google, etc., to take down statements that the government hates or fears. It’s absolutely prohibited by the Supreme Court.
But there’s no outrage because there’s no love of liberty anymore because we are so immune to the government trampling our liberties that we expect it to happen.
Thanks. I always appreciate when the two of you get going. Where indeed in the outrage? I suspect many are just confused, numb and dumb. Best.
