Netanyahu Faces Renewed Protests, Calls from Gantz for September Elections
Israeli PM's adult son Yair compared Israeli protesters and hostage relatives to Nazis
Watch for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to escalate or with Iran to maintain his grip on power as calls intensify within his country for new elections, given Israel’s failure to defeat Hamas and save the remaining hostages.

Benny Gantz, a war cabinet minister who is also a Netanyahu rival, said Wednesday that September elections are vital to “renew trust” in the government.

“Setting such a date will allow us to continue the military effort while signaling to the citizens of Israel that we will soon renew their trust in us,” he said, according to The Times of Israel.
The Trends Journal reported extensively on how Netanyahu’s political career was hanging in the balance before the 7 Hamas attack. He faced corruption charges that could bring a prison sentence, he faced historic weekly protests against the judicial overhaul that some analysts said could explode into a civil war, and his relationship with Washington was souring because of his aggressive, pro-settler stance in the West Bank.
A chaotic protest broke out Tuesday night in front of Netanyahu's home. The Times of Israel reported that police arrested five demonstrators and “opened an investigation into the throwing of a burning torch at a mounted officer.”
Netanyahu’s little boy, Yair, likened the protesters calling for a return of hostages to Nazis because they carried torches.
"Violent torch marches were a hallmark of the Nazis, by the way," he wrote on his Telegram channel, according to The Jerusalem Post.
New elections in Israel are not required until October 2026, but many have called for a new vote sooner rather than later because of Netanyahu’s unpopularity. Gadi Eisenkot, the former armed forces chief of staff in Netanyahu’s war cabinet, said last month that a vote for a new prime minister should be held in the next few months.
In November, Yair Lapid, the former soap opera star and ad pitchman and Netanyahu’s opposition leader, called on his successor to step down because the Israeli government is “not functioning.”
TRENDPOST: The Trends Journal has noted that the brutality and genocide in Gaza have nothing to do with rescuing hostages, rather an effort by Israel to collectively punish Palestinians and try to intimidate neighbors. Indeed, what does killing over 33,000, seriously wounding over 80,000, and bombing Gaza into ruin have to do with “getting Hamas?”
Family members of hostages have clashed with Israeli hardline politicians. There was a meeting held in November about a bill that would mandate the death penalty for terrorists. Relatives of hostages said the discussion alone was madness because the bill eliminated any chance of the hostages being returned.
Tzvika Fogel of extremist Otzma Yehudit, accused those relatives of “representing Hamas.”
Gantz is very likely the ACTUAL MASTERMIND behind October 7.
Netanyahu is just a willing accomplice.
