Yair Lapid, the former Israeli prime minister and opposition leader, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lost the trust of his people and urged moderates to leave the fragile coalition — including Defence Minister Benny Gantz.

He said, “This government is unfit to lead the war” and that “Netanyahu is unfit to lead the country.”
“This is not a unity government; this is not an emergency government. They are not saving the State of Israel, they are saving Netanyahu,” he continued.
Netanyahu, who is fighting for his political survival, leads a racist, far-right coalition in the Knesset that has endorsed new “settlements” in the West Bank, and has called on entire Palestinian villages to be annihilated.
