Netanyahu's Corruption Trail Resumes, When All Else Fails They Take You to War
Did Netanyahu know Hamas attack was coming?
The corruption trial against embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resumed on Monday after a legal pause due to the ongoing genocide in Gaza after the 7 October Hamas attack.
Netanyahu has been charged with fraud, bribery, and breach of trust in three cases filed in 2019, known as Case 1000, 2000 and 4000, Al Jazeera reported. The report said bribery charges could carry a sentence of up to 10 years in jail and/or a fine.

The New York Times, citing Israeli news media reports, said Netanyahu did not attend the hearing that dealt largely with procedural issues.
“As the trial resumes, Mr. Netanyahu’s standing with the Israeli public has worsened. Many Israelis blame his government for the failure of the security services to prevent the attack by Hamas, in which roughly 1,200 people were killed, according to Israeli authorities, and about 240 people taken hostage,” the paper wrote.
Besides the legal problems, Netanyahu was facing massive protests each week before the war in opposition to the judicial overhaul. Netanyahu’s office was forced to deny a report on Channel 13 news that the prime minister floated the idea that the reservists’ strike during his judicial reforms push could have provided Hamas with an opening.
