Norman Finkelstein Calls New York Times Writers 'Whores of Genocide'
Middle East scholar calls recent report on human shields 'fabricated out of whole cloth'
Norman Finkelstein, the Middle East scholar who has called Israel a “lunatic state” amid its genocide in Gaza, lashed out at two reporters at The New York Times over a recent report on how Gazans are allegedly “turning away” Hamas gunman at shelters who are seeking human shields.
The paper’s report was titled, “Unwilling to Be Human Shields, Some Gazans Turn Gunmen Away From Shelters” and was published on Tuesday.
The paper spoke to a Gazan who fled his home in the northern region of the enclave and — like thousands of displaced Palestinians — lives inside a UN school-turned-shelter, which is a favorite target for the IDF. The man told the paper that a group of people at the Abdul Kareem al-Aklouk school in Deir al Balah, turned away gunmen looking for safety amid the displaced people.

The authors of this article are identified as Bilal Shbair and Matthew Mpoke Bigg. Let there be no mistake: these two “persons of color” are complicit in g
Mainstream news outlets in the U.S. have been faithful to Israel during the Gaza genocide and decided not to report on the IDF’s decision to invoke the Hannibal Directive during the 7 October Hamas attack. (A Google search found no mention of the directive in “the Paper of Record.”)
The controversial directive essentially means the IDF will open fire with reckless abandon to prevent the capture of soldiers during an attack. Norman Finkelstein, the Middle East scholar, once described the directive: Just blow up everything in sight for a wide radius in order to kill the Israeli who is captured.
