Nuclear Bomb Test or Earthquake in Iran? Former British Diplomat Weighs in
Mystery quake occurs as Israel and Iran are on the brink of an all-out war.
Alastair Crooke, the former British diplomat, told Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom” on Monday that the reported “4.6 magnitude earthquake” in Iran’s Semnan province that occurred on 5 October may very well have been a nuclear bomb test amid increased tensions with Israel.
Crooke noted the disparities between the seismic charts between what happened on Saturday and previous earthquakes in the region and he said engineers think it looks more like a nuclear test.

“I imagine this has not escaped the Pentagon,” he said. He said it would be a “potent” message from Iran if it was a nuclear test.
The quake had an unusually shallow depth of 6.2 miles.
One X user posted: “Iran has gone nuclear since last night. They used the test bombs 10 km below the surface near Semnan to ensure minimum radiation exposure and it resulted in a 4.6 scale earthquake which was recorded by seismographs.”
The Cradle reported in September — citing sources from Syria — that Israel’s assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran would likely result in Iran speeding up the process to become nuclear capable.
Iran launched nearly 200 missiles into Israel last week after vowing for months to avenge recent Israeli attacks in the region. Israel has been carrying out a brutal genocide in Gaza and is now expanding the war in Lebanon. Israel also escalated war with Iran after it assassinated Haniyeh while he was in Tehran in July for the inauguration of Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Iranians last week warned Washington in a letter passed on by the Qataris that they would no longer act with “unilateral self-restraint” if Israel decided to respond to the bombing campaign last week.
The letter made it clear to Washington that Iran will no longer tolerate Israel’s intimidation campaign that included assassinations, bombings, and a partial ground invasion in southern Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported.
The report said the letter indicated that an attack from Israel would be met with an “unconventional response.”
TRENDPOST: The Trends Journal has long said these uncontrolled conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine will lead the world to a nuclear exchange. But there is no mention of peace in Washington and only more war and support for Ukraine and Israel.
