NYC Launches ‘Duck and Cover 2.0’ Air Raid Drill: Prepare For Nuclear War? Or Has Mayor Adams Gone Nuts?
New York City’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) released a “Duck and Cover 2.0” video on Monday featuring an actress telling people what to do after NYC was bombarded with nuclear bombs.
Noting the Ukraine War, and with talk escalating that Russia may launch a nuclear strike, NYC Mayor Eric Adams alerted New Yorkers that the worst is yet to come.
Strongly supporting his administration’s OEM’s air raid drill, Adams said he’s “a big believer in better safe than sorry,” and that New Yorkers should “be prepared.”

In response to a reporter asking if the video was overly alarming, Adams said no, “these are just smart things to do.”

New York City’s OEM Commissioner Zach Iscol said, “As the threat landscape continues to evolve, it is important that New Yorkers know we are preparing for any imminent threats and are providing them with the resources they need to stay safe and informed.”

Mayor Adams dictates that by taking OEM’s “three steps” to make you “safe,” and that “these are just smart things to do” if nukes are dropped, are nonsensical.
To follow these idiotic orders dished out by an actress with a voice and attitude of a third-grade teacher is an insult for anyone intelligent enough to understand the stupidity of their made-up “Duck and Cover” air raid drill.
As for Adams saying we should “be prepared,” and the Commissioner warning of "imminent threats"... prepared for what, an "imminent" nuclear annihilation?
If nuclear bombs are dropped it will be the beginning of the end of life on Earth. Maybe the mayor’s office and the OEM missed, or are too stupid, to read the recent study that if nuclear war breaks out between Russia and the U.S., we will enter a New Ice Age that will last thousands of years.
However, in keeping with the spirit of bureaucratic arrogance and ignorance, their recommendations to stand in the middle of a room when nuclear bombs drops so you won’t be shattered by glass or washing your clothes if you were outside when nukes exploded... exemplifies their comic-book mentality.
This grammar school production video is moronic.
The actions the actress tells people to take are as bogus as the “Duck and Cover” air raid drills during the Cold War. Back then, they forced school kids to hide under their desks in case an atom bomb exploded in their neighborhood... as though hiding under a school desk would protect them from being melted by atomic explosions.
For the OEM to put out a deceptive fear-spreading video like this is demented and maniacal.

NATO and the U.S. are not in a proxy war with Russia.
Indeed CNN made it perfectly clear with their headline story on Thursday that "Ukraine's new US rockets are causing fresh problems for Russia."
By providing scores of billions of dollars in military weapons, training troops, and providing intelligence to keep bloodying the killing fields, they are accessories to the crime... they are at war with Russia.
And there is no talk of peace, only more weapons and money being sent to Ukraine until Russia is defeated.
Therefore, since Moscow won’t surrender and Ukraine has lost over 20 percent of its territory to Russia, rather than negotiate for peace – which Ukraine and its allies have said they would not – the war may well escalate to a nuclear war.
