Advancing technology, advancing war.
The two are inextricably, symbiotically aligned in development by major powers like China and the U.S., and humankind will no doubt reap the results.
CAN LULA BE THE MAN TO BRING PEACE TO UKRAINE?
The latest news on that front comes from the Biden administration budget request, which includes huge funding for initiatives to further develop and exploit AI and other cutting edge technology for military use.
A Pentagon webinar held on 13 April 2023 outlined some of the goals and practical hurdles to creating state-of-the-art weapons systems.

Some of the most sought-after, tech-driven weapon capabilities include:
Employing “third wave” or highly advanced AI to defending against hypersonic missiles flying at five times the speed of sound
Use of AI in “Predictive Vehicle Activity” to “automate target detection and recognition”
Electromagnetic weapons that can neutralize drone threats and be powered from a wall outlet
“Pop-Up Hide” cloaking tech that can make soldiers in plain sight vanish
The Pentagon’s $842 billion FY24 defense proposal specifically identifies China as a “growing multi-domain threat” that the DOD is focused on keeping ahead of in terms of battlefield technology, according to a write-up by The Epoch Times.
DARPA Comes Knocking For Tech Startups
Among Pentagon strategies for staying on the bleeding edge of tech development and capturing it for military use, has been an aggressive pursuit and enticement program for tech start-ups.
It’s important to note that start-ups who may have had no intention to create technology for military use are very likely to be approached and pursued with funding and other incentives, if the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) deems the technology involved to have potential military application.
One such program is something called the Embedded Entrepreneurship Initiative (EEI).
DARPA Director Dr. Stefanie Tompkins described it:
“[EEI is designed to] facilitate collaboration between entrepreneurs and DARPA teams to speed up the production of new innovations. The EEI has supported 30 companies and is in the process of expanding to fund 150 research teams.”
Advancing weaponized AI is at the center of DAPA’s AI Forward initiative, which Tomkins noted is “focusing on what happens next in the world of AI.”
The Trends Journal has been forecasting and informing readers concerning the pursuit and development of devastating new technologies by governments, before it was mainstream news.
