Unlike the propaganda corporate media in the West, Pope Francis evidently thought for himself when he said there’s a chance that the Ukraine War was either “provoked or not prevented.”
If you live in the U.S., the mainstream media and politicians from both parties have been clear about the narrative of the war and anyone who questions the storyline is immediately called a Putin apologist.
This was an unprovoked war by a dying madman who wants to return Russia to its former glory. Your job is to not question that narrative andto search online for a Ukrainian flag to wave in front of your house. (Just make sure the blue is on top of the yellow.)
Francis’ interview was published on Tuesday in La Civilta' Cattolica. He told the editors that “there are no metaphysical good guys and bad guys, in an abstract sense,” and again said NATO was “barking at the gates of Russia,” and that Russia would not tolerate it.
A couple of months before the war started, I met with a head of state—a wise man, who speaks very little: very wise indeed. After we discussed the things he wanted to talk about, he told me that he was very concerned about the way NATO was acting. I asked him why, and he said, "They are barking at the gates of Russia. And they don't understand that the Russians are imperial and they will not allow any foreign power to approach them."
What we are seeing is the brutality and ferocity with which this war is being carried out by the troops, generally mercenaries, used by the Russians. In reality, the Russians prefer to send forward Chechens, Syrians, mercenaries. But the danger is that we only see this, which is monstrous, and miss the whole drama that is unfolding behind this war, which was perhaps somehow either provoked or not-prevented. I also note the interest in testing and selling weapons. It is very sad, but at the end of the day that is what is at stake.

Francis said in the 19 May interview that a few years ago, he believed the world was fighting a war, but piecemeal, RT.com reported. “Today, for me, World War III has been declared,” he said.
The Pope noted that there are ongoing wars in places like northern Nigeria and Myanmar, “and nobody cares.”
“The world is at war. This is something that should give us pause for thought,” he said.
Francis’ comment about how it is interesting how willing countries are to sell their weapons is very observant. The U.S. has been blind in its support of Ukraine because the Biden administration wants to hurt Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin so badly.
The New York Times, citing current and former U.S. officials, published a report last week that said American intelligence agencies have “less information than they would like about Ukraine’s operations and possess a far better picture of Russia’s military.”
Beth Sanner, a former senior intelligence official, told the paper: “How much do we really know about how Ukraine is doing?”
“Can you find a person who will tell you with confidence how many troops has Ukraine lost, how many pieces of equipment has Ukraine lost?” she asked.
TREND FORECAST: The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming! The Cold War, launched immediately after World War II, paused, but never ended.
From Russian defectors being poisoned in the U.K, to Donald Trump’s Presidential win, to any cyberattack, high crime and misdemeanors—without providing a shred of hard evidence, America’s media and politicians blame it on the Russians. (See “Pure Propaganda”)
And while the western media continues to report on the German horrors of the Holocaust which killed over 6 million Jewish civilians, Adolph Hitler’s “Operation Barbarossa” was launched against the Soviet Union 80 years ago today, costing the lives of some 30 million people on the Eastern Front.
Yet, these Nazi horrors have been brainwashed out of society, masked by the Cold War and the Iron Curtain that separated Eastern Europe and Russia from the West.
If we take into account all the conflicts and wars globally since 9/11, WW3 has arguably been going on for quite some time.
