Putin: We're Going to Take More Land in Ukraine Because of Western Weapons
Russian forces have seized about 20 percent of the country since the February 2022 invasion and successfully turned back Ukraine’s highly anticipated counteroffensive in spring 2023
The Trends Journal, which has been completely ignored by the propaganda mainstream news media, said since the beginning of the Ukraine war that the longer the conflict drags on, the more Ukraine will have to give up during negotiations.
The West doesn’t mind because this war has only been about one thing: weakening Russian President Vladimir Putin. (The West has a clown as president in Ukraine just dumb enough to do its bidding.
Making good on our forecast, Putin said yesterday that his forces will have to seize more Ukrainian land because of the ongoing threat of long-range missiles that have been provided by the West.
Russian forces have seized about 20 percent of the country since the February 2022 invasion and successfully turned back Ukraine’s highly anticipated counteroffensive in spring 2023.
Putin said Russia needs to establish a “demilitarized zone” in Ukraine deeper into the country to ensure security, RT, the Russian news outlet reported. He said the move was needed because of “foreign-made longer-range weapons that the Ukrainian authorities use to strike peaceful cities.”
Putin’s comments came a day before the EU announced another 50 billion euro package for Kyiv’s beleaguered economy.
Charles Michel, the European Council president, said on X that the deal “locks in steadfast, long-term, predictable funding for Ukraine,” and demonstrated that the “EU is taking leadership and responsibility in support for Ukraine; we know what is at stake.”

In October, Putin told a conference that Russia is not interested in seizing new territory in Ukraine and wants the conflict to come to a swift end. But, since then, Ukraine has increased its attacks on Russian soil to appear as a viable force that the West can support.
TRENDPOST: The Trends Journal has called for Kyiv to negotiate for a peaceful settlement before Russia invaded Ukraine, not because we agree with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade, but because Ukraine has no chance of winning against a superior Russian military and it would be in the best interest of its government to get along with their superpower neighbor.
The former comedian Zelensky who for years was a sitcom star before becoming President of Ukraine gave headline-ready remarks, including, “I need ammunition, not a ride.”
But despite the effort, the Ukraine War does not read like a Hollywood script about an underdog who shocks the world and drops an oversized bully. Life doesn’t work that way.
In November 2022, Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, jolted Washington when he said Ukraine may want to consider peace negotiations. But after being criticized for speaking about peace, he changed his tune and promoted more war.
“We’ve seen the Ukrainian military fight the Russian military to a standstill. Now, what the future holds is not known with any degree of certainty, but we think there are some possibilities here for some diplomatic solutions,” he said in an interview with CNBC.
His comments were remarkable at the time, because the Biden administration promoted only war up until that point, and Milley seemed like a powerful voice that could affect change.
But he did a quick about-face after facing severe backlash from pro-war Washington think tanks and politicians. He later said Russia already lost the conflict.
On 31 May 2022, just months after the invasion, The Trends Journal wrote in its TREND FORECAST: Ukraine would have been forced to negotiate with Russia months ago if not for the multi-billion dollar weapon flows from the West and billions in funding to prop up the economically broke and busted Kyiv government.
The West is fighting more than just a “proxy war” with Russia. It is, by its money and weapons transfers into Ukraine, an accessory to the crime.
We forecast, as economies in the West decline, the war drags on, and Ukraine loses more territory to Russia… the massive weapons and money flows will dry up and Russia will win the war.
