RITTER: Iran controls every aspect of the war
Trump's decision to enforce a blockade will fail, he says
Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons expert, said Iran controls every aspect of the war against the U.S., and President Donald Trump has no good options from a military standpoint.
“We don’t control the Strait of Hormuz and we never will control the Strait of Hormuz,” he told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s Judging Freedom on Monday. “We cannot collapse the regime; the more we bomb, the stronger the regime gets.”
Trump warned that the U.S. ships near Iran were being reloaded during the ceasefire, but Ritter said the Iranians essentially responded: “Do whatever you need to do,” because you’ll end up burning through the new weapons in days and be right where you left off.
He said, “Iran controls of the aspect of this conflict. We can blow up buildings on the ground; that's all we can do.”
