RITTER: Hamas is 'unconquerable' under current conditions
Former UN weapons inspector says the only reason Israel would even consider a ceasefire is because of Hamas's resistance on the ground
Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons inspector, said in an interview Monday that he was hopeful the U.S.-backed ceasefire deal would end the bloodshed in Gaza, but has reservations because Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a man “looking for war.”
Ritter told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom” that the Israeli leadership do not want peace.

“Netanyahu needs war. Peace is his enemy,” Ritter said. “If there is peace, Netanyahu will be kicked out of office, arrested, put in jail for the rest of his life. This is a man who’s looking for war.”
He said that Netanyahu must understand that Israel is in a very bad position at the moment. He noted that the country’s economy is floundering and its military is struggling in Gaza.

“Understand this, there would be no Trump deal if Israel thought it was winning this conflict,” Ritter said. “This deal is only possible because Hamas’s resistance is ongoing, sustained, and unbeatable at this juncture.”

For those who do not get their news from the mainstream news media, they understand that Netanyahu’s goal for the war was never to retrieve the hostages taken by Hamas on 7 October 2023. His goal was to use the attack to justify a massacre campaign in hopes of expanding a Greater Israel in the region and achieving a final solution for the Palestinian problem. He was further encouraged that he would be able to achieve all of his goals by the election victory of pro-Zionist Donald Trump and his administration, who all have a religious devotion to Israel.
