Ritter to Zelensky: 'You Did This'

Former UN weapons inspector blamed the Ukrainian president after the missile strike on a children's hospital in Kyiv.

Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons inspector, sent a message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he was ultimately responsible for the missile strike that hit a children’s hospital on Monday — just before NATO members were to meet at an important summit in Washington.

Zelensky posted a video on X showing the aftermath of the strike on Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, which he identified as one of the most important “CHILDREN’S hospitals not only in Ukraine but also in Europe.”

He used the strike to condemn Moscow.

“Russia cannot claim ignorance of where its missiles are flying and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes,” he posted. “Against people, against children, against humanity in general. It is very important that the world does not remain silent about this now, and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it is doing.”

Ritter responded: “You did this. You. You keep asking for air defense systems you don’t know how to use. You place them close to civilian targets. You fire them in panic mode. Then wonder why you destroy your own children’s hospital. You’re a disgrace. Resign now.”

Ritter also lashed out at Finnish President Alexander Stubb who posted that there are “no limits to the atrocities of the Russian Federation.”

Stubb posted that Finland will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Ritter responded to his post stating that the hospital was struck by a NATO-provided NASAMS surface-to-air missile.

“That’s right. NATO. The organization you just joined. You’re now affiliated with idiots and murderers. You might want to raise this issue at the NATO summit tomorrow. And please…have someone fact check your posts before sending them out. Otherwise you just look stupid. But then again, you joined NATO.”
