RITTER: Trump is Fundamentally Weak, Not a 'Humanitarian'
Former UN weapons inspector was asked about a recent statement from the de-facto Secretary of State Steve Witkoff that Trump is a 'humanitarian'
Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons inspector, was asked Wednesday about a comment made by Steve Witkoff, the U.S. special envoy, calling U.S. President Donald Trump a “humanitarian” who wants the war in Gaza to end.
Judge Andrew Napolitano, host of “Judging Freedom,” asked Ritter, “Isn’t that laughable,” given the president’s support for Israel?
Ritter agreed and said one of Trump’s fundamental character flaws is that he is a weak man who “will take the path of least resistance.”
“He’s not deciding not to kill children because, suddenly, he grew a conscience; he’s just a weak man,” he said.
He said Trump was clear that he backed Israel when it was “fashionable, and it made him look strong,” but now “when he’s confronted with images [from Gaza] that cannot be ignored any longer of dead children, killed by the bombs that we gave to the Israelis who we greenlighted to break the ceasefire that we negotiated…suddenly he’s a humanitarian.”
Ritter said Trump does not stand for anything and can easily be swayed “just simply by standing up to him.”
In March, Morgan Ortagus, the former Fox News contributor who served under former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, told Fox News that the Trump administration has “unleashed Israel” by giving the country all the weapons it needs to punish Gaza.
