RITTER: Vast Majority of Israelis Killed During Hamas Attack Were Killed by IDF
Mainstream news outlets in the U.S. that have been faithful to Israel during the Gaza genocide decided not to report on the IDF’s decision
Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons inspector, said in an interview published Monday that it is clear that the Israeli military killed more civilians during the 7 October attack than Hamas, which carried out the “greatest military raid in modern history.”
Ritter called the Hamas attack a military operation – not a terror operation.

Hamas closed in and “destroyed the Israeli defense force through firepower and maneuver and slaughtered them, killing hundreds,” he told “Dialogue Works.”
He noted that he wrote an article shortly after the raid that said the civilians that were killed was not the result of Hamas terrorism, but rather “irresponsible Israeli action.”
“The vast majority of Israelis killed were killed by the Israeli military,” he said. “The Israelis denied it of course because they had to create a counternarrative. They can’t accept that Hamas defeated them militarily. They have to say that Hamas is a terror organization, so they have to manufacture things.”
Mainstream news outlets in the U.S. that have been faithful to Israel during the Gaza genocide decided not to report on the IDF’s decision to invoke the Hannibal Directive during the 7 October Hamas attack.
The controversial directive essentially means the IDF will open fire with reckless abandon to prevent the capture of soldiers during an attack. Norman Finkelstein, the Middle East scholar, once described the directive: Just blow up everything in sight for a wide radius in order to kill the Israeli who is captured.
The Cradle noted that a Google search for the report came up empty in major news sites like NBC News, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, and The New York Times – even after Haaretz ran an extensive report on the decision.
Ritter said he obviously does not condone the atrocities that Hamas has been accused of, and it is clear that Hamas did kill Israeli civilians during the raid.
“Hamas came in on motorcycles and hang-gliders and you have thousands of burned-out vehicles. How did that happen?” he asked. “Not from Hamas. It was done by Israeli Apache helicopters that came in a systemically slaughtered everybody to prevent Hamas from capturing these people and taking them back and holding them hostage.”
He said Hamas knew that Israel would overreact and it was willing to sacrifice the Palestinian population in Gaza to isolate Israel internationally and remind the world that there is a need for a Palestinian state.
