Russia Announces Tactical Nuke Drills Amid Stupid Comments From West
Russia sees Ukraine's membership in NATO an existential threat
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement Monday that Moscow’s upcoming drills that involve battlefield nuclear weapons should help NATO countries understand the “possible catastrophic consequences of the strategic risks they generate, and keep them from both assisting the Kyiv regime in its terrorist actions and from being drawn into a direct armed confrontation with Russia.”

WHY: NATO allies have been intensifying rhetoric as Ukraine continues to lose ground to the superior Russian military. French President Emmanuel Macron continues to stand by his remarks that his troops could join the fray in Ukraine, and Britain’s top diplomat David Cameron gave Ukraine the stamp of approval to use long-range missiles provided by London to strike targets deep inside Russia.
Maria Zakharova said on Saturday that NATO's large-scale Steadfast Defender drills are a clear indication that the alliance is preparing for a "potential conflict" with Russia, Sputnik reported.
“Right now, NATO is conducting its largest drills since the Cold War, Steadfast Defender, near the Russian border. According to the scenario, using all tools, including hybrid ones and conventional weapons, they are exercising coalition actions against Russia. We have to admit that NATO states are seriously preparing for a ‘potential conflict’ with us, about which, by the way, high-ranking NATO representatives are openly talking," Zakharova said.
Russia has also warned that any delivery of F-16s to Ukraine would be a major nuclear escalation because these jets can carry nuclear bombs.
These tests will include “tactical” warheads, which are smaller than “strategic” nuclear weapons meant to target cities, The New York Times reported.
“This is a completely new round of escalation of tensions — it is unprecedented,” Dmitri S. Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, said, according to the paper. “And, of course, it requires special attention and special measures.”
COULD BIDEN GO NUCLEAR TO SAVE ELECTION? Ray McGovern, the former CIA analyst, told the “Dialogue Works” podcast last month that he would not put it past the Biden administration “sophomores” to use a “low-yield nuclear weapon to help save face in Ukraine before the 2024 election. (Read Here)
PROFESSOR: U.S. WON’T GO NUCLEAR, EVEN IF RUSSIA DOES: Professor John Mearsheimer imagined last week an unlikely scenario where Russia started to lose the war in Ukraine and said Moscow could decide to go nuclear, which would not result in a U.S. nuclear strike of its own.
“If we responded with nuclear weapons against Russia, Russia would then respond with nuclear weapons against the United States of America,” he said. “And no American president, in my opinion, is willing to sacrifice New York or Chicago or Los Angeles for Ukraine.” (Read Here).
TRENDPOST: Sergey Karaganov, a chairman at the Council of Foreign and Defense Policy and close ally to Russian President Vladimir Putin, put forth the case for Russia to call the U.S.’s bluff.
