Moscow Warns U.S. That Challenging Russia Puts Human Existence at Risk
Medvedev has been a vocal opponent of the West's support of Ukraine
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s national security council, said Wednesday that it would be absurd for the U.S. to continue to provoke a nuclear power the size of Russia.
"The idea of punishing a country that has one of the largest nuclear potentials is absurd. And potentially poses a threat to the existence of humanity," he said, according to Reuters, which cited his Telegram account.

This is not the first time Russia’s former president considered how a nuclear exchange would unfold. Russia has warned the West of “unpredictable consequences” for its militarization of Ukraine.
Medvedev also took issue with the U.S. for keeping a tally of alleged war crimes committed by Russian troops in Ukraine. He mentioned the millions killed in U.S.-led conflicts like Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

“So who’s going to give us a show trial? Those who kill people and commit war crimes with impunity, but do not meet real condemnation in the international structures financed by them?” Medvedev said, according to AntiWar.org.
