Russian MP Responds to Reported U.S. Plan to Send Nukes to UK: Put Nukes on Cuba
Aleksey Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the Russian parliamentary defense committee, responds to U.S.'s move to put nukes in UK over Kremlin threat
A top Russian lawmaker responded to reports that the U.S. will send nuclear weapons to the UK by saying that the Kremlin should position some of its weapons in “friendly countries,” like Cuba… even though he said Moscow’s hypersonic arsenal would still be a more effective deterrent.

Aleksey Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the Russian parliamentary defense committee and leader of the Rodina (Motherland) party, took to his Telegram account and said Britain already has its own nukes, so, from a military standpoint, the U.S. weapons don’t make that much of a difference, RT, the Russian outlet, reported.
But, in a tit-for-tat countermeasure, he did suggest that the Kremlin consider positioning its own weapons closer to the U.S., namely in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.
He noted that even that move might not have too much military use.
“Russian hypersonic missiles launched from our territory would reach the US faster than subsonic ones launched from the American underbelly,” he noted.
The Telegraph reported last week that Washington is planning to position nuclear weapons in the UK due to the risk of conflict with Russia. It would be the first time American nukes would be stationed there in 15 years.
Grant Shapps, the British defense minister, said the U.K. needs to prepare for war within five years with Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea—the countries that the U.S. has already identified as the new “Axis of Evil.”
Shapps said the U.K., which spends $63 billion on defense a year, is one of the top militaries in the world and would play a leading role. He said in five years, the country could be “looking at multiple theaters including Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.”
“Ask yourself, looking at today’s conflicts across the world, is it more likely that that number grows or reduces? I suspect we all know the answer. It’s likely to grow, so 2024 must mark an inflection point,” he said.
TRENDPOST: Bild, the German news outlet, received a “leaked” German military document stating that it imagined a scenario where Russia stages a massive offensive in the spring of 2024 and defeats Ukraine. (Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he has no interest in any more territory.)
The report said NATO would intervene if Russian forces occupy the Suwałki Gap, which separates Kaliningrad and Belarus, Business Insider reported.
The Trends Journal has warned subscribers to be prepared for a false flag attack to get the public ready for war. Peace has been banned in Gaza and in Ukraine and conditions will continue to worsen.
We look back on the day that Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., was named Speaker of the House and he said his first order of business was to get support to Israel. Days later, he went on Fox News to identify the new “Axis of Evil.”
