SACHS: Netanyahu Can't Win, So He's Trying to Pull the U.S. Into a Wider War

Zelensky is trying to pull off the same move because his military cannot defeat Russia, the economist says.

Israel cannot defeat Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, or Iran, so it is trying to pull the U.S. into an all-out war with Tehran out of desperation — similar to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s efforts in Ukraine, Jeffery Sachs, the Columbia economist, said in an interview with Judge Andrew Napolitano on Tuesday.

He noted that the U.S. has been an unconditional supporter of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu throughout the war, and the AIPAC-bought Congress even embarrassed itself by giving the war criminal over 50 standing ovation during his recent address.

Sachs noted that Washington is so committed to Israel, that the first message posted by U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin after the illegal assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Iran was that the U.S. has an “unwavering commitment” to Israel’s security.

“Not a word about, ‘Ummm…maybe not so prudent to assassinate your negotiating counterpart on the occasion of the Iranian president’s inauguration.’ Not a word about that, just the quote, ‘unconditional backing,’” Sachs said.

Sachs said the Israeli government is pushing the view that Israel should be the permanent owner of all the land from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. The hope is that the millions of Palestinians who live there either flee or are killed.

He said the Israeli government knows that it cannot win a battle by itself against any of its adversaries, but it thinks it could win if the U.S. joins the fight and “go to war with the real backer of this so-called Axis of Resistance… with Iran…then we can win.”

“Of course, Iran has a backer, too, by the way…Russia,” he said.

He said the “recipe” permeating the Israeli Knesset is WWIII, and Biden is so weak, it could achieve its objective — which could end in a nuclear war.
