SACHS: Ukraine Drone Attack Brought World Closer to Nuclear War
Columbia professor says nuclear war threat should not be taken lightly because we are led by fools
Jeffery Sachs, the Columbia economist, said in an interview that aired Wednesday that the major Ukrainian drone strike across Russia that damaged strategic military planes at four airfields pulled the world closer to nuclear annihilation, and the Trump administration either knew about it and assisted — which is '“horrific to think about” — or it didn’t know, which is also horrific to consider.
“What is happening now, attacking part of the nuclear triad, attacking deep in Russia, is a dramatic escalation, and brings us closer to Armageddon,” he told Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom.”

He said if U.S. President Donald Trump was unaware of the attack, it was a “grave failure” of American intelligence, because of the extraordinary escalation that involved Ukraine attacking part of Russia’s nuclear capabilities.
“The issues that are raised are absolutely profound,” Sachs said.
Scott Ritter, the former UN weapons expert, posted on his Substack: “This would be the equivalent of a hostile actor launching drone strikes against US Air Force B-52H bombers stationed at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota and at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, and B-2 bombers stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.”
