Sen. Cotton-Mouth Wants to Ban 'West Bank' in Federal Government
Top Israeli officials have celebrated Donald Trump’s election in the U.S. and see their best possibility ever in annexing the occupied West Bank
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark, a devoted Christian Zionist, introduced legislation last week that would ban the federal government from identifying the Israeli-Occupied Territory as the “West Bank” in favor of its biblical name “Judea and Samaria.”
Cotton, like others close to President-elect Donald Trump, believes that it is unfair to Israelis to identify the territory as the West Bank because the Jewish people’s “legal and historic rights” to the land “go back thousands of years.”
“The U.S. should stop using the politically charged term West Bank to refer to the biblical heartland of Israel,” he said in a statement.
He posted on X: “Referring to Judea and Samaria as the ‘West Bank’ is a slap in the face to historical truth. It’s time to call this region by its rightful name and stop playing into anti-Israel propaganda.”

The bill was called the “Retiring the Egregious Confusion Over the Genuine Name of Israel’s Zone of Influence by Necessitating Government-use of Judea and Samaria (RECOGNIZING Judea and Samaria) Act,” and would force U.S. policy to align with the “geographical and cultural significance of the region,” clearly indicating that Washington should support annexation.
The Middle East Monitor reported that the bill was first presented in the House of Representatives in March by Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., but it stalled.
She praised Cotton for his effort to reaffirm “Israel’s rightful claim to its territory.”
Top Israeli officials have celebrated Donald Trump’s election in the U.S. and see their best possibility ever in annexing the occupied West Bank, which has long been the goal of the Israeli government.
Bezalel Smotrich, the Israeli finance minister and top settler (land-stealer), told reporters that Trump’s win opens the door for a lot of possibilities.
“2025 [is] the year of sovereignty in ‘Judea and Samaria’,” referencing the West Bank. “I have instructed the Settlement Division in the Ministry of Defense and the Civil Administration to begin professional and comprehensive work to prepare the necessary infrastructure for applying sovereignty.”
Trump also tapped Mike Huckabee, another Christian fanatic, as his ambassador to Israel.
He also said Israel has a “title deed” over all its land that is “God-given,” and that “No American president should ever put the pressure on Israel to give up land that God gave them the title deed to.”
TRENDPOST: Gerald Celente has mocked U.S. politicians who refer to the Bible when it comes to real estate dealings in Israel. He said they are repeating what was supposedly written 3,500 years ago in what religious people call their bible.
Celente said, “What a joke, they re-write and make up history that occurred less than a century ago like why World War II, the Afghan War, the Iraq War, the Syrian War, the Libyan War, the Yemen War etc. were fought. But now we are supposed to believe what was written in the bible 3,500 years ago and the fairytale that God told Abraham that he gave the land to the Jewish people? What happened to God, did he/she disappear and never returned to talk to anyone about anything else and only spoke to Abraham?”
So, if God turns up and announces to the world that he/she gave this land to the Jewish people, then I will believe it. But up until then, as the facts show, Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people and stealing their land in violation of the Geneva Convention and UN article 242.
Cotton Mouth
Cotton is the perfect example that a southern Republican can never love Israel too much. Cotton, on more than one occasion, mocked Arabs killed by U.S. bombs in the region as “goat-herders,” trying to indicate that their lives were worthless.
