At least 104 people were killed, and more than 750 wounded when IDF troops opened fire near the food aid station, according to the Gazza Ministry of Health. Israel blamed a stampede for most of the deaths.
Al Jazeera reported that Gazans gathered at al-Rashid Street after learning that trucks carrying flour had been dispatched. One witness told the paper that IDF troops opened fire into the crowd.
“More than 100 Palestinians who were begging for food, were murdered by Netanyahu. This is called genocide and reminds us of the Holocaust even if the world powers do not like to recognize it” - Colombian president
“We went to get flour. The Israeli army shot at us. There are many martyrs on the ground and until this moment we are withdrawing them. There is no first aid,” the witness said.
A reporter from the network said when the shooting was over, Israeli tanks crushed dead and injured Palestinians as they advanced. Ambulances could not reach the scene because there are no roads, the report said.
HAMAS, ISRAEL SHOOT DOWN BIDEN CLAIM THAT CEASEFIRE IS NEAR
The Times of Israel reported that U.S. President Joe Biden had a phone call with the leaders of Egypt and Qatar to discuss the “tragic and alarming incident.” Israel has come out and blamed the rush for food as the cause of most of the deaths. An IDF spokesman said, “We didn't fire at the aid seekers – neither from the air nor from the ground.”
Martin Griffiths, the UN under-secretary-general for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, posted on X, “Life is draining out of Gaza at terrifying speed.”
He posted after reports of the attack: “Even after close to five months of brutal hostilities, Gaza still has the ability to shock us. I am appalled at the reported killing an injury of hundreds of people during a transfer of aid supplies west of Gaza City today. This comes as the death toll across Gaza since October 7 hits the 30,000-mark.
Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro announced in response to the reported attack that his country will suspend “all arms purchases from Israel.”
“More than 100 Palestinians who were begging for food, were murdered by Netanyahu. This is called genocide and reminds us of the Holocaust even if the world powers do not like to recognize it,” Petro said.

An Israeli military source told the BBC that the troops did ‘open fire as some in the crowd moved towards them in a way that was "‘endangering the troops.”’
TRENDPOST: We have no faith that there will be a sufficient investigation into the incident, but it is worth reminding readers that Gazan society has crumbled because of the U.S.-backed blockade has put a quarter of the city’s population one step away from famine. These people are desperate.
TRENDPOST: It should be noted that U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told a Congressional hearing Thursday that Washington has provided Israel with 21,000 precision-guided missiles since the start of the war.

Tareq Abu Azzoum, a reporter for Al Jazeera, said: “This is a part of what has been happening in the course of the last few days. These attacks have been repeatedly carried out by the Israeli military, but today it was one of the bloodiest attacks.”
