Trump Bombs Iran, 'Thank You for Your Attention to This Matter'
Trump praises 'successful' mission
BREAKING: U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that the U.S. military carried out a bombing campaign on Iran’s nuclear sites, likely starting a major confrontation in the Middle East.
John Mearsheimer, the University of Chicago professor, said in an interview in March that Trump is “basically owned by Israel” so an all-out war is not out of the question if Tehran does not bow to American pressure.
Mearsheimer said Trump likely understands that he must settle the nuclear issue because of the enormous pressure he is under from Israel and the Israel lobby in the U.S.
“It looks to me that if Iran doesn’t cave to our demands — that we will — with the Israelis use military force against Iran. The rhetoric here certainly points in that direction, and given the extent to which Israel basically owns Donald Trump, I don’t see how he could avoid a war with Iran if Iran doesn’t get on its knees and concede to Donald Trump’s pressure.”
Israel Katz, Israel’s new defense minister, said months ago that the world is in “the middle of WWIII” and it’s his country leading the way against Iranian-led radical Islam.
“We’re in the middle of World War III against Iran-led radical Islam, whose tentacles are already in Europe,” Katz said earlier this year.
Netanyahu has said, “Iran is the head of the octopus and you see its tentacles all around from the Houthis to Hezbollah to Hamas.”
Trump, who took $100 million from pro-Israel hawk Miriam Adelson, tapped Sen. J.D. Vance as his vice president, who said during the campaign that the U.S. needs to hit Iran hard.
“We need to punch Iran hard. That's what Trump did with Qasem Soleimani. That action actually brought peace by checking the Iranians. If you want to check the Iranians, you need to withdraw their oil money, and enable Israel and the Sunni countries to work to counter Iran,” he said.
Col. Douglas MacGregor, (ret.), a decorated combat veteran and former advisor to the Secretary of Defense in the Trump administration, said in an interview that Israel could not defeat Iran in a conventional war without the U.S.’s support.
MacGregor appeared on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s YouTube show “Judging Freedom” and was asked if the Israeli military could stand up to Iranian forces.
“No,” he said. “The Israelis know that but they assume that we [the U.S.] will come in one way or the other.”
