Trump Understands Netanyahu is in Charge, MacGregor Says
The Israeli leader has total control over the U.S. Congress
U.S. President Donald Trump may be angry with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at times, but he likely understands that — when push comes to shove — that Netanyahu is in charge, retired U.S. Army Col. Douglas MacGregor said in an interview this week.
MacGregor appeared on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Judging Freedom” and was asked about the threat of Israel striking Iranian nuclear targets amid negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
He said he believes the threat is real and he believes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “says what he means and does what he says.”
MacGregor said he does not believe Trump “figures” very much in the whole equation, and war with Iran will be determined on what Netanyahu decides to do because of the “enormous support” he has in Congress.
