Ukraine Says U.S., UK Need to Provide More Advanced Rocket Systems if it's Going to Defeat Russia
With each passing day, the world comes closer to war with Russia
Note to readers: The new Trends Journal was be released earlier today and was packed with information that impacts your life. Be prepared, not afraid.
Oleksiy Arestovych, an advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said in an interview that his country needs more advanced rocket systems than the U.S. and UK promised if his forces stand a chance against Russia in the eastern flank of Ukraine.
“The fewer we get, the worse our situation will be. Our troops will continue to die and we will continue to lose ground,” Arestovych told The Guardian.
“If we get 60 of these systems then the Russians will lose all ability to advance anywhere, they will be stopped dead in their tracks,” he said. “If we get 40 they will advance, albeit very slowly with heavy casualties; with 20 they will continue to advance with higher casualties than now.”
The missile system was part of the U.S.’s latest injection of $700 million of “security assistance”that included:
High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and ammunition;
Five counter-artillery radars;
Two air surveillance radars;
1,000 Javelins and 50 Command Launch Units;
6,000 anti-armor weapons;
15,000 155mm artillery rounds;
Four Mi-17 helicopters;
15 tactical vehicles;
Spare parts and equipment.
The Guardian reported that Britain was vague on how many M270 tracked rocket launchers it will give to Ukraine. The paper said “a handful.” The U.S. said it would donate four HIMARS, or truck-based high mobility artillery rocket systems (Himars).
The Kremlin blamed the U.S. for adding “fuel to the fire.”
ZELENSKY RULES OUT CEDING TERRITORY TO RUSSIA
“We know that the United States has been purposefully and meticulously adding fuel to the fire,” Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, said. "The United States pursues the course towards fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian."
The Guardian said: The US army has 363 Himars and 225 M270 rocket launchers, and the US Marines have a further 47, according to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, while the UK has 35 of its version of the M270s – indicating there could be capacity to supply more to Ukraine.
Update
Zelensky told the AFP on Tuesday that he is ready for “direct talks” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "There was nobody else to talk to but" the Russian president.
Russia said Tuesday that it now controls 97 percent of the two provinces in the Donbas “bringing the Kremlin closer to its goal of fully capturing the eastern industrial heartland of coal mines and factories,” the Associated Press reported.

Mykhailo Podolyak, another adviser to Zelensky, said these recent victories by Russia should not discourage Ukrainians.
“Don’t let the news that we’ve ceded something scare you,” he said. “It is clear that tactical maneuvers are ongoing. We cede something, we take something back.”
Note to Readers: The Trends Journal is completely opposed to the Russian invasion but believes that the best option is for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate a peace deal and stop listening to President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who are fighting a proxy war to weaken Russia, all while sacrificing brave Ukrainians. We’ve pointed out for months that the U.S. has not won a war since WWII, and just recently had a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan — after spending $2 trillion over two decades.
