Ukraine's Real Counteroffensive Begins, Only Ensuring More Deaths
The Trends Journal has said the Ukrainian Armed Forces simply cannot stand up to the Russian military and should negotiate.
Remember that counteroffensive that began weeks ago that yielded no major victories for Ukraine? The Western media is now saying the REAL effort has just begun as heavy fighting has been recorded in in the south.
The New York Times reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged that attacks had escalated “in a significant way” and that Ukrainian forces have absorbed heavy loses.
The Times was the first to report on the counteroffensive expanding and cited one unnamed official who said, “This is the big test.”
Two U.S. officials told CNN that Ukraine “has committed more forces to the southeast of the country, a sign that Kyiv has identified potential weaknesses in Russian defensive lines.”
The report went on to say, “While it still maintains some combat power in reserve, it has now deployed the ‘main bulk’ of the forces committed to the counteroffensive forces.”
TRENDPOST: It is worth noting that these “U.S. officials” mentioned in these stories are usually pre-approved by the administration to maintain a grip on the narrative. These are not “exclusives” but rather propaganda with some bells on.
Putin gloated last week that Ukraine’s counteroffensive has failed, dashing the hopes of Kyiv’s Western allies that these forces would break through Russia’s frontlines.
The worse the Ukrainian forces do in their counteroffensive, the tougher it will be for Western propagandists to sell the war
The West, at least publicly, has insisted that this counteroffensive should not be looked at as a make-or-break moment in the war, and have said its support for Ukraine will remain ironclad regardless of military success. But new reports have emerged that said the West is looking for some significant gains for Ukraine to justify continued support for the war.
Putin told Russia’s Security Council that the results are clear and Ukraine’s counteroffensive has failed, and the “Kyiv regime’s Western handlers are clearly disappointed.”
Russia responded to reports of the counteroffensive by launching long-range strikes against Ukraine’s military infrastructure, targeting weaponry stockpiles, ammo and fuel depots, as well as several airfields, RT reported, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
“There are no results [of the counteroffensive], at least for the time being,” Putin said, according to TASS, the Russian outlet. “Neither huge resources pumped into the Kyiv regime nor the deliveries of Western weapons—tanks, artillery, armor, and missiles—nor thousands of foreign mercenaries sent there and most actively used in attempts to break through our army’s front are of any help.”
