UK's Cameron Pranked, Explains Why Ukraine Isn't Invited to NATO Summit
NATO membership for Ukraine is a sensitive subject because Russia has said it would mean war with the alliance
The Russian pranksters who got George W. Bush to admit that it is Ukraine’s job to kill Russians tricked British Foreign Minister David Cameron to admit that Kyiv will not be invited to the NATO summit next week in Washington.
Cameron told Vladimir Kuznetsov and Aleksey Stolyarov, AKA “Vovan and Lexus,” that Ukraine will not be invited to the 75th-anniversary summit along with the 32 official members because Washington is opposed to Kyiv’s membership, according to a video posted on Sputnik.
A spokesman from the British Foreign Ministry told The Trends Journal that the department made public" that this call happened weeks ago to prepare the public.
“This is clearly Russian, and is standard practice for information operations. Disinformation is a tactic straight from the Kremlin playbook to try to distract from their illegal activities in Ukraine and the human rights abuses being committed there,” the official said.

Cameron purportedly believed he was talking to former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
The video shows “Poroshenko” telling Cameron that the lack of an invite sends a bad signal about unity. Cameron said, “There’s not going to be an invitation because America won’t support one. And, so, what I’ve said to [Ukrainian] President Zelensky is, ‘Let’s try and get the best language we can about NATO support for Ukraine, but don’t – we mustn’t have an argument between NATO and Ukraine before the summit.”
He said the message could be that Ukraine will become a future member of the alliance.
He said they can’t afford an argument about the status of Ukraine’s membership before the summit.
Poroshenko has been under investigation for treason that his supporters say is unfounded and politically motivated by Zelensky’s administration—his chief rival.
Poroshenko is still a very popular figure and would have been one of Zelensky’s top challengers in the 2024 presidential election – if it was not banned.
NATO membership for Ukraine is a sensitive subject because Russia has said it would mean war with the alliance.
Jens Stoltenberg, the NATO head, told reporters in Brussels earlier this month that it is vital for the alliance to make sure that Ukraine prevails against Russia.
“And without that, of course, there is no [NATO] membership issue to be discussed. We need to ensure that Ukraine prevails – that’s an absolute minimum for Ukraine to become a member of the alliance,” he said, according to RT, the Russian outlet.
Zelensky admitted in May that a Ukrainian victory is a prerequisite for membership in the alliance.
Zelensky announced in 2022 that he filed an expedited application to join NATO in light of Russian President Vladimir Putin annexing four occupied regions in the country, but the alliance did not accept the request.
“De facto, we have already proven interoperability with the Alliance’s standards, they are real for Ukraine — real on the battlefield and in all aspects of our interaction,” Zelensky said at the time. “Today, Ukraine is applying to make it de jure. Under a procedure consistent with our significance for the protection of our entire community. Under an accelerated procedure.”
Zelensky has said that the U.S. will be faced with two bleak choices if Kyiv loses the war with Russia. He said the U.S. could either decide to join the fight or sit back and watch NATO, the alliance that has been around since 1949, unravel.
Zelensky made the comment in June after being asked about the possibility that the 2024 presidential election in the U.S. could result in someone less willing than President Joe Biden to bankroll Ukrainians.
Zelensky, who needs to rely on fear tactics, said, “Is he ready to go to war? To fight, to send his kids? Are they ready to die? Because anyway, they will have to do this if NATO gets involved.”
Putin has said that Ukraine is merely a chess piece for the West in its effort to defeat Russia either on the battlefield or economically.
“The point is not that they are helping our enemy, but that they are our enemy,” he said. “They are solving their own problems with [Ukraine’s] hands, that’s what it’s all about.”
One really has to wonder about the intelligence of our "leadership class" when they continue to get pranked by these two.
