UK's Cameron Stumped When Asked How Britain Would Respond if a 'Hostile Nation' Flattened a British Consulate

Russia recently mocked the hypocrisy from the West over the Iranian attack

David Cameron, Britain’s top diplomat put Western hypocrisy on full display during a recent interview on Sky News when he was asked how the UK would respond if a “hostile nation” “flattened” one of its foreign consulates.

Cameron was on the program to condemn Tehran’s attack on Israel as asymmetric after Israel carried out a bombing attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria that killed 12, including two top military officials.

Cameron followed the U.S.’s lead and tried to call for Israel to “take the win” and move on. He insisted on presenting the Iranian attack as an egregious overreaction but was asked by the host about how Britain would respond.

“What would Britain do if a hostel nation flattened one of our consulates?” he was asked.

“Well, we would take, you know, we would take very strong action.”

“And Iran with that that's what they did,” the host interjected.

“What they did, as I said was a massive attack,” he said.

“So they were right to respond, but they overreacted. Is that what you’re saying?”

“What I'm saying is the attack.. The attack they carried out was on a very large scale much bigger than people expected,” he said.

“Did they have the right to respond?” the host asked.

“Countries have the right to respond when they feel they suffered and aggression, of course they do. But look at the scale of that response. Had those weapons not have been shot down, there could have been thousands of casualties, including civilian casualties. I think that's a really important point to take into account.”
